A Partridge In A Pear Tree

How could I resist joining Tanya's Prairie Schooler Christmas Wreath SAL! The leaflet I chose to use is 12 Days of Christmas. I am stitching each day as a separate ornament, and then I will finish them and put them on a grapevine wreath. This is the objective of each participant, but everyone can choose a Prairie Schooler leaflet of their liking. This is a photo of my completed day 1 -

I am using the recommended DMC threads, and the fabric is 32 count Dirty Linen. I want to use some kind of embellishment - ribbon, beads or buttons - but, I haven't decided yet. I think maybe after I stitch a couple more days it will help me to decide.

Enjoy your weekend,
Nancy

Oh! I love the linen you chose! It's really lovely with the floss colors! You'll have a lovely wreath when completed! :)

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for telling me you missed me! :) Your first SAL square looks super!

I selected my chart last night and picked up the fibers I need. I'm going with Old World Santas for my wreath. This is going to be such a fun stitch along.

It looks great! You stitched this one up so quickly. I agree with you about our choice of fabric looking so alike. I thought the colors came out so well on a darker color. I am excited to start one with lots of the white on it as I know our fabric will really make it come alive. I am looking forward to watching yours grow too.

The linen you chose gives it such an understated tone - very vintage-looking and lovely! I can't wait to see more

You're off to a great start Nancy.
The partridge looks wonderful stitched on the dirty linen.
Beautifully stitched as always.
